Ordnance Survey Ireland produce large scale mapping at 1:1000, 1:2500 and 1:5000 scales. These series are available in paper and digital formats.
1:1000 Mapping
This series is only available in urban areas. There are presently 1810 sheets covering urban areas with populations greater than 1,500 approximately, each sheet measures 800m x 600m (48 hectares). A structured revision programme is in place and maps are revised annually.
1:2500 Mapping
There are presently 4,700 sheets covering selected suburban and periurban areas of Ireland, each measuring 2000m x 1500m (300 hectares). A structured revision programme is in place with the aim of revising urban maps annually and periurban maps every three years.
1:5000 Mapping
There are presently 7,000 sheets covering rural areas of Ireland, each measuring 4000m x 3000m (1200 hectares). A structured revision programme is in place with the aim of revising the maps every five years.

ARCHINFO supplies OSI maps specifically designed for Land Registration purposes. Land Registry compliant maps show ITM coordinates in the corners of the map. OSi and Land Registry are migrating from the Irish National Grid system to the ITM system on a phased basis. Digital mapping in ITM projection can also be supplied for Land Registry purposes.
Digitally scanned and ortho-rectified raster colour photography. The ortho-rectification process removes distortions caused by camera tilt and topographical features to produce a scale accurate image.
Latest colour aerial photography flown between 2004 and 2006, producing a photo scale of circa 1:40,000. Previous colour aerial photography flown in July 2000.
Coverage: National coverage (Republic of Ireland)
Specifications: 1m per pixel resolution. Available in IG or ITM.
File Formats: Digital format in TIFF. Each colour ortho-photo is approximate 9Mb in size.

Holiday Series mapping makes available the information from the OSi Road Atlas in Raster and Vector digital formats. Produced at a scale of 1:210000, this series is suitable for covering large areas (from 400 square kms to 2000 square kms) showing main roads, towns and cities.
Discovery Series mapping is available in paper and digital formats. Produced at 1:50000 scale, this series shows a range of useful detail including, street layouts, road numbers, townland names, rivers, historical and archaeological features etc. The OSi map system allows us to provide site-centred extracts anywhere in the Republic of Ireland.
Digital Formats
Vector: This nation-wide dataset has all features coded or multicoded to represent topographical features. The vector data (point, line & polygon) can be displayed at any scale with individual layers capable of being omitted or individually shown. Data is captured in 3D, with horizontal measurements in metres on the Irish Grid or Irish Transverse Mercator and vertical measurements on the Malin Head datum in metres above sea level.
Raster: The raster data is generated from vector data at 300 and 600 dpi, reproducing data as represented on published paper map sheets.
Data Series: This product is derived from a 1:10,000 digital databases and aerial photography of photoscale 1:30,000 - 1:40,000 with field verification. Some data e.g. Post Offices, tourist information etc. is derived from appropriate external organisations.
Coverage: National coverage of 1:50,000 Discovery topographical data in vector & raster format
Specifications: Available in IG (Irish Grid) or ITM

These datasets cover the greater urban areas of Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Galway and Waterford at scale of 1:10,000 - 1:15,000.
Specifications: Available in IG or ITM.
